Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position is set to begin in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on your performance. The role offers a weekly pay of £419.25 to £500.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Maths department and contributing to the academic success of the students. This position is ideal for a recent Maths graduate who is passionate about education and interested in gaining hands-on experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist Maths teachers in delivering high-quality lessons by working closely with students who need additional support. You will help clarify mathematical concepts, work through problems, and ensure that all students are engaged and progressing.

  • Small Group and One-to-One Tutoring: Provide targeted support to students through small group sessions or one-to-one tutoring. You will focus on reinforcing key topics, preparing students for exams, and helping them overcome any difficulties they face in Maths.

  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare and organize lesson materials, including worksheets, homework assignments, and visual aids. Your contributions will help make lessons more effective and accessible for all students.

  • Exam Preparation: Support students in their preparation for GCSE and other important exams. You will assist with revision sessions, practice exams, and help students develop effective study strategies.

  • Behavior and Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment by supporting the teacher in managing student behavior. You will help implement strategies to keep students focused and on task.

  • Monitoring Progress: Track the academic progress of students, identifying those who may need additional support. You will provide feedback to the teacher and help adjust instructional approaches to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Encouraging Mathematical Confidence: Foster a positive attitude towards Maths, helping students build their confidence and develop a growth mindset. You will encourage them to see Maths as a subject they can excel in.

  • Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in extracurricular activities related to Maths, such as Maths clubs, competitions, or after-school study sessions. Your involvement will help students see the real-world applications of what they are learning in class.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent Maths graduate with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education, with a desire to make a positive impact on students' learning.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with young people, either through volunteering, tutoring, or in a school setting, is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential and a willingness to go the extra mile to support their learning.
