Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Denton, Tameside
Salary: £419.25 - £500 per week
Position: Full-Time, Starting October
Duration: Until the End of the Academic Year (with potential for a permanent role based on performance)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Maths Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Denton, Tameside, as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is set to begin in October and offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in an educational setting.

Role Overview: As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students in their mathematical studies. You will work closely with teachers to deliver targeted interventions, assist in the classroom, and provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help. Your responsibilities will also include helping to prepare lesson materials, supporting students with special educational needs, and contributing to the overall positive learning environment of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of Maths lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those who are struggling or require extra help.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources to support the learning objectives.
  • Work alongside teachers to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Support the development of students' confidence and skills in Maths through effective mentoring and guidance.
  • Participate in wider school activities and contribute to a positive school culture.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A passion for education and a strong desire to support student learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary work, is desirable but not essential.
