Key Responsibilities:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students and staff in the Maths department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, providing targeted support to help them understand mathematical concepts and improve their academic performance
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons, helping to ensure all students are engaged and making progress
  • Supporting students who may be struggling with specific topics, offering guidance and tailored explanations to aid their understanding
  • Helping students prepare for assessments and exams, providing study support and revision strategies
  • Assisting with lesson planning and preparation of resources to enhance the learning experience
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback to teachers and helping to track student development
  • Supporting classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and focused learning environment
  • Encouraging students to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities and fostering a positive attitude towards learning
  • Assisting with any extracurricular activities or Maths-related clubs that promote student engagement in the subject

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Maths or a related subject
  • A strong passion for Maths and a desire to inspire young learners
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and concisely
  • A proactive and patient approach to supporting students with different learning needs
  • Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
