Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and passionate Maths Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This is a full-time role starting in October, with the potential to continue until the end of the academic year. There is also the possibility of the role becoming permanent based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the maths department to support students' learning and development. Your main duties will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who may need additional help in understanding maths concepts
  • Assisting classroom teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective maths lessons
  • Supporting students during lessons, ensuring they stay focused and are able to engage with the material
  • Helping to develop and deliver targeted intervention sessions for students who are underachieving or need additional support
  • Assisting with exam preparation and revision sessions, ensuring students are confident and well-prepared
  • Monitoring student progress, providing feedback to teachers, and suggesting adjustments to lesson plans as needed
  • Supporting the creation of teaching resources and materials, ensuring they cater to a variety of learning styles
  • Helping to promote a positive learning environment, encouraging a love for mathematics and problem-solving
  • Offering pastoral support to students where needed, helping them build confidence in their mathematical abilities
  • Participating in extra-curricular activities and maths-related clubs, encouraging students' engagement with the subject outside of the classroom

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in maths or a related subject
  • A strong passion for education and a desire to help students succeed in maths
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging way
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary work, is beneficial but not essential
  • A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education is advantageous
