This full-time role begins in October and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay of £419.25 to £500.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the maths department, working closely with teachers to enhance the learning experience for students. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support during maths lessons, working with students of varying abilities
• Offer one-to-one and small group tutoring to help students understand difficult mathematical concepts
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, preparing learning materials, and ensuring all students can access the curriculum
• Support students in developing their problem-solving skills and confidence in maths
• Work with pupils who need extra help, including those with special educational needs or those who may have fallen behind in their learning
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers to ensure students' development is tracked
• Help manage classroom behaviour, contributing to a positive and focused learning environment
• Assist with exam preparation, revision sessions, and any intervention programmes aimed at improving maths outcomes
• Collaborate with the maths department to contribute to extra-curricular activities or maths-related initiatives
• Play an active role in the school community, supporting students in other areas of school life as needed

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree in Maths or a closely related subject is essential
• Passion for maths and a desire to help young people achieve their full potential in the subject
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and concisely
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach to working with students of different abilities
• Ability to build rapport with students, encouraging a positive attitude towards learning
• Experience working with young people, either in a formal or informal capacity, is desirable but not essential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
