Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This is a full-time position starting in January to cover maternity leave. Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons that align with the national curriculum. Ensure lessons cater to a wide range of abilities, and inspire a love for Mathematics in students.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments. Provide timely feedback to students and parents to support continuous improvement.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a well-ordered and positive classroom environment that supports learning and promotes good behaviour. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to keep students engaged and on task.
  • Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those requiring additional support or those who are gifted and talented.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Maths department and other colleagues to develop and share resources and strategies that promote student achievement. Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Parental Communication: Engage with parents and carers regarding students' progress, achievements, and areas for development, ensuring a strong home-school partnership.
  • Support for Exams: Prepare students for internal and external exams, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in assessments.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest teaching practices and developments in Mathematics education, and be proactive in seeking opportunities for professional growth.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting, with a proven track record of strong classroom management and student progress.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage students and deliver high-quality Maths instruction. Confidence in using a variety of teaching strategies to inspire and challenge students.
  • Commitment: A dedication to ensuring that all students achieve their full potential, with a positive attitude towards teamwork and continuous professional development.
