A Catholic secondary school in Blackburn are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher from January 2023 for a maternity cover, initially until the end of the academic year but potentially continuing into the 2023/2024 academic year.

The school are looking for a positive teaching role model who has previous Maths teaching experience across KS3 and KS4, and someone who can ensure that all pupils receive high quality support in accessing learning inside and outside of the classroom.

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has previous Maths teaching experience across KS3 and KS4
  • Has strong behaviour and classroom management
  • Can deal with young people in a manner which is conductive to the school mission statement and contribute to the well-being and development of the pupils and the school
  • Can assist in establishing and maintaining high standards of work and behaviour
  • Can take advice and direction from and give support to Head of Faculty in a manner which enables him/her to carry out their role effectively
  • Will attend departmental and other meetings as requested by the Head of Faculty
  • Will contribute to departmental curricular and extra-curricular activities
  • Will keep abreast of current developments and new teaching approaches, and where necessary, to attend relevant in-service courses
