Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist provision in Portsmouth, who cater for Secondary aged children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school are looking for a qualified Maths Teacher to join their team from the start of the new academic year. The school aim to provide an education to each pupil which ensures that they thrive within a nurturing setting.

The Successful Applicant:

You will need to be an enthusiastic and compassionate educator with experience or a strong desire to work within an SEMH setting.

You will need to be resilient and able to teach a range of ability levels, while being sensitive to the varied vulnerabilities of the students.

Key Requirements:

  • Maths Teaching experience**
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Ability to teach a broad range of abilities, and tailor learning to individual needs.
  • A solid understanding of differentiated learning experiences and behaviour management.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEMH and special education.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and teaching a curriculum that meets the needs of individual students up to Key Stage 4.
  • Always maintain safeguarding procedures and protocols.
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s values and procedures.
  • Creating a positive, nurturing environment that motivates, engages, and inspires students.

**Teachers who are Primary trained with the ability to teach Maths to Secondary level are also welcome to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
