About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Maths Teacher for a variety of secondary schools across the Portsmouth area. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated maths lessons tailored to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Teach a comprehensive curriculum covering various mathematical concepts and applications.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress, development, and attainment.
- Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance students' understanding and interest in maths.
- Monitor student performance, provide constructive feedback, and offer targeted support as needed.
- Participate in department planning meetings and contribute to the development of the maths curriculum.
- Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and strategies for supporting their learning.
- Engage in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the schools.
- Take part in continuous professional development to stay current with educational advancements and improve teaching practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Proven experience teaching maths in a secondary school setting (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4), with a track record of achieving positive outcomes for students.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for maths education.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
