About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Maths Teacher for a variety of secondary schools across the Portsmouth area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated maths lessons tailored to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Teach a comprehensive curriculum covering various mathematical concepts and applications.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, development, and attainment.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance students' understanding and interest in maths.
  • Monitor student performance, provide constructive feedback, and offer targeted support as needed.
  • Participate in department planning meetings and contribute to the development of the maths curriculum.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and strategies for supporting their learning.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the schools.
  • Take part in continuous professional development to stay current with educational advancements and improve teaching practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching maths in a secondary school setting (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4), with a track record of achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for maths education.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to professional growth and reflective teaching practices.
