The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Mathematics to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support students in their learning journey, with a particular focus on enhancing their mathematical skills and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality maths lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help in mathematics.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Help to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding and passion for mathematics.
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of students.
  • A relevant qualification in education or mathematics is desirable but not essential.
