Are you passionate about supporting young people with Mental Health needs? Do you have a nurturing personality and drive to make a real difference in students' lives? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. In this role, you will support students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education and behavior plans.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and support student progress.
  • Promote the emotional well-being and resilience of students through positive relationships and appropriate interventions.
  • Help develop and deliver engaging activities that cater to the needs and interests of the students.

The successful educator will have the two or more of the following:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, either in a school setting or a similar environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A patient, calm, and understanding approach to challenging situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
