Exciting Opportunity for an MFL Teacher in Levenshulme!

Are you a dedicated and passionate MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) Teacher looking for an inspiring role? Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present a full-time position for an MFL Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As an MFL Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach French, Spanish, or German to students, fostering their language proficiency, cultural awareness, and communication skills. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing MFL lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students develop a solid foundation in the target language and a passion for language learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging MFL lessons covering a range of topics, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural aspects, promoting students' fluency and confidence in the target language.

  • Language Proficiency: Teach students essential language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, through interactive and communicative activities.

  • Cultural Awareness: Introduce students to the cultural aspects of the target language countries, including traditions, customs, and cultural practices, fostering their cultural awareness and appreciation.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their language learning journey.

  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the MFL department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in MFL (French, Spanish, or German).

  • Strong proficiency in the target language(s) and excellent communication skills in both English and the target language(s).

  • Previous experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.

  • Enthusiasm for language teaching and a passion for promoting language learning among students.

  • Commitment to fostering cultural awareness, communication skills, and a love for languages.
