About the School:
We are partnering with a well-established, Ofsted-graded 'Good' High School in Reading, known for its supportive and collaborative environment. The school is committed to providing high-quality education and developing well-rounded, confident students. They are now looking to expand their Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department with the appointment of a full-time Teacher of MFL, with a preference for candidates who specialise in French.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled MFL teacher to join a forward-thinking department. The successful candidate will:

  • Teach MFL across various key stages, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons that inspire a love of languages in students.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the MFL department to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Support students in their academic and personal development, providing guidance and mentorship where needed.
  • Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, potentially through language clubs, trips, or cultural activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in teaching MFL.
  • Specialism in French is preferred, but expertise in other languages will also be considered.
  • A commitment to high educational standards and a passion for inspiring students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
