An Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join their permanent staff starting from September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and innovative music educator to join a supportive and dynamic team committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a love for music among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging music lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that inspires and motivates students to achieve their full potential in music.
  • Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students, providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for music.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extra-curricular activities, such as school concerts, music clubs, and other performances.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Music or a related subject.
  • Proven UK experience teaching music at the secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for music education.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in leading musical ensembles or choirs.
  • Familiarity with music technology and its application in the classroom.
  • A track record of achieving excellent student outcomes in music.
