Nursery Assistant (Full-Time)

Location: Nursery School in Lydiate (L31)

Salary: dependent on experience

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Start Date: 04/11/24

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and child development to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Assist with the day-to-day care of the children, including feeding, changing, and ensuring their overall well-being.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where each child feels valued and supported.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Teacher and other staff to monitor and assess the progress of children, providing feedback and support where needed.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and development.
  • Ensure the nursery is a safe, clean, and welcoming space at all times.
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and the organisation of resources.

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Previous experience working within a school environment.
