A lovely primary school in the Newquay area are recruiting for a Nurture Group Leader to support a small group of children from September 2024. A nurture group setting is being trialled for the new academic year and the children have a range of SEN and SEMH needs. This nurture group requires a strong TA or HLTA leader to support their development, both social/emotional and academic. You will have a large amount of support from class teachers, the school SENCO and several class Teaching Assistants. Each day will be different due to the pupil's timetables but you will be a consistent and supportive figure within school and support them for most of their time in school. 

Experience/training required:

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting SEN/SEMH needs within primary schools
  • Experience supporting challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of TIS practice
  • Team Teach training would be desirable but can be offered to successful candidate by Teaching Personnel

You'll be hard-working, proactive, dedicated and exceptionally nurturing. You will have knowledge on various forms of special educational needs and will be confident in your supportive approach. You will have an abundance of patience and be commited to helping each child in your care to reach their full potential.

Working hours:

8:30AM TO 3:15PM, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
