As a Nurturing Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing the learning experience for our students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized attention and assistance to students, helping them to feel valued, understood, and confident in their abilities. Your empathetic nature and dedication to fostering a positive learning environment will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring they understand and engage with the material.
  • Foster a warm and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and respected.
  • Monitor and support students' social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Support students with special educational needs, adapting activities and materials as required.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and other activities.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
