Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an Outdoor Learning Support Mentor to work in a specialist school. The school is based on the outskirts of Bristol and boasts an 18-acre farm. The school offers a range of outdoor learning activities to support the education of children and young people. The children you would be supporting have complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.  The school is devoted to providing a curriculum focusing on making, doing and creating and taking part in meaningful activities that engage hand, head and heart.

To be successful within the role, we are looking for staff who have a creative, influential impact on the children. Many of the children at the school have experienced trauma and so may exhibit challenging behaviour. You will need to be empathetic, understanding and able to be confident in de-escalation tactics.

About the role:

-          September start

-          Full time/ Part time roles available

-          £100- £110/ day depending on experience

-          Be proactive, creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching.

-          Be confident working with challenging behaviour and can build trusting and lasting relationships.

-          Be passionate to be outdoors and has an interest in the fields of arts, crafts, commerce, agriculture, nutrition, living skills and the environment.
