Position: Primary Supply Teaching

Hours: Full-time (8:30am to 3:30pm)

The Role:

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will be teaching children across the curriculum. You should have a creative and imaginative approach, capable of implementing learning strategies and adaptive resources to motivate children to learn and develop.

You will be confident in creating a safe and appropriate environment for children to learn. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll need to connect with children in a relatable way and effectively communicate their progress and development.

You will be driven by the goal of advancing each child’s development and preparing them for their transition to secondary school.

The ideal Teacher will possess:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly in the area of SATs
  • Experience with school policies, particularly surrounding health and safety and safeguarding
  • Understanding of how National Curriculum test information is used for teacher and school development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a teaching programme that is adaptive and differentiated to all pupils’ abilities
  • Ensure each lesson maintains structure, pace, and motivation to challenge and aid pupil progress
  • Use school assessment data effectively to inform future lesson planning
  • Establish high expectations for pupil behaviour and classroom management
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and secure learning environment
  • Set ambitious, yet achievable targets for pupils, and monitor progress and attainment closely
  • Continually develop learning resources and activities, adapting materials to meet individual needs
  • Monitor individual student progress during SATs preparation, supporting students to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with parents/guardians through shared knowledge
  • Mark and monitor classwork and homework, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for future progress
  • Coordinate with and liaise with Teaching Assistants to meet pupils’ educational needs and monitor progress
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development and identify areas for continuous professional development
  • Attend meetings, reviews, and training in accordance with school policy

Working Hours:

Full-time (minimum 8:30am – 3:30pm). Extra hours may be required for staff meetings, inspections, and parent consultations.
