Position Overview:
As a member of the Pastoral Support Staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and well-being of students. This role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to provide emotional and social support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work with teachers and parents to create individualized support plans for students facing challenges.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school environment where all students feel safe and supported.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of pastoral care programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students during transitions, such as moving between year groups or dealing with significant life changes.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support to students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support the well-being of students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in pastoral care, counselling, or related fields are advantageous.
