Position: Pastoral Support worker

Location: Northampton

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the empathy, dedication, and skills to support students in their personal and academic journey? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently working closely with a school based centrally to Northampton who are seeking a pastoral support worker to join their team ASAP. They are a popular school who have been rated a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted. They are located in a village in central Northampton, and have excellent facilities for both students and members of staff to use throughout the day and during lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and well-being.
  • Organize and lead small group and one-on-one interventions focused on improving students' social skills, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Promote positive behaviour and attendance, supporting students in developing strategies for success.
  • Liaise with teachers and school leadership to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.

 Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in counselling, social work, education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people in a school or community setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage a diverse caseload.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
