Position: PE and Dance Teacher (Maternity Cover - 1 Year)

Location: Northampton

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through physical education and dance? Do you thrive in a dynamic and energetic school environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE and Dance Teacher to join our team on a 1-year maternity cover.

About the Role

As a PE and Dance Teacher, you will play a vital role in promoting physical fitness, health, and creativity among students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in PE and Dance, encouraging students to develop their skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of movement.

The school in mind are a ‘Good’ rated school by OFSTED, based centrally to Northampton in NN3 where all members of staff highly enjoy working there. Due to their location they have various forms of transport modes to easily access the school, and a large car park for drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver PE and Dance lessons across various year groups, ensuring a balanced curriculum.
  • Inspire students to participate and excel in physical education, from individual sports to team activities and dance performances.
  • Organize extracurricular clubs, events, and competitions to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment, promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PE and Dance in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for PE and Dance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for physical activity, creativity, and working with young people.
  • Good behaviour management skills
