Job Salary: £25,000 - £42,500 per annum

 

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce Team are currently working alongside an FE College located in Manchester who are looking to speak with experienced Science Lecturers, specialising in Physics, to join their team from September 2024. The College supports the Skills for Life agenda and recognises the importance of all adults having functional literacy and numeracy whatever their role.  All staff are therefore given the support to gain a level 2 qualification in literacy and / or numeracy if they do not already have one and all teaching staff are expected to promote the basic skills of their learners within their subjects.

 

Main Areas of Responsibility

The purpose of your role will be:

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

 

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

  1. Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  1. Have successful teaching experience at secondary or FE (College level (can be teaching practice).
  1. Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  1. Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor
  1. Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at A Level, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
