Learning Difficulty Support Worker New

An outstanding special school based in Thornbury is currently recruiting for support staff to join their team. The school caters for students with Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

The school is set across two sites with a number of modern facilities including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, large trampolines, well equipped play spaces and large classrooms.

The right candidate will:

- Be a good communicator

- Work flexibility across both sites

- Have experience working in schools or care settings

- Be happy to provide personal care

- Have good interpersonal skills with both adults and children

The successful candidate may be required to undertake:

• Lifting of non-ambulant pupils using lifting aids and manual handling techniques

• Dealing with personal welfare and hygiene of incontinent pupils

• Pushing wheelchairs, buggies and other mobility aids on school premises and off-site

• Operating hoists after appropriate training

• Using Team Teach techniques after appropriate training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
