The primary responsibility of a PPA Cover teacher is to provide cover for teachers who are away from the classroom due to various reasons. This involves delivering pre-prepared lessons to students across different year groups and subjects, ensuring continuity in the learning process. The PPA Cover teacher must maintain discipline and follow school policies and procedures during the absence of the regular class teacher.

Applicants must hold a valid QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have experience working in a classroom environment. Strong communication skills, the ability to adapt quickly to different teaching styles, and a good understanding of the national curriculum are essential.

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required. Additional training in behaviour management and safeguarding would be advantageous.

Previous experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting is preferred. Experience in delivering lessons across different subjects and year groups is beneficial. Strong ECT's would be considered for this position. 

Proficient knowledge of the national curriculum and teaching standards. Strong classroom management skills, the ability to engage students effectively, and a passion for education are key attributes for this role.

Additional certifications in specific subject areas or special educational needs (SEN) would be desirable.

The role involves working on a daily basis covering classes in various subjects and year groups. The PPA Cover teacher may need to adapt quickly to different teaching environments and establish rapport with students and staff members. The working hours are typically school hours, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
