The pupils have all been excluded from school but also have a diagnosis of Autism. Some pupils also have additional needs such as SEMH, PDA and learning difficulties.

Position: Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Location: Poole

Salary: £12.90 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who have been excluded from school
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN needs is desirable
• You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
• Strong understanding of Autism and its impact on learning and behavior
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
