Primary School Teacher – KS2 English Interventions

Location: Aintree, L10

Contract Type: Part-time

Hours: 12-3:30pm, Monday-Friday

Salary: £100-150 per day

Start Date: 4th November 2024

Job Description: As a Primary School Teacher specialising in KS2 English interventions, you will focus on delivering targeted support to pupils who require additional help in literacy. You will work with small groups and individual students to enhance their reading, writing, and comprehension skills, contributing to their overall academic progress and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English intervention sessions for KS2 pupils, tailored to their specific learning needs.
  • Assess pupils’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals and learning gaps.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group instruction, focusing on areas such as reading fluency, comprehension, writing skills, and spelling.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to pupil development.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to class teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates pupils and supports their confidence in literacy.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school, ideally with a focus on English or literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 English curriculum and strategies for supporting children with varying levels of ability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
  • A passion for helping pupils improve their literacy skills and achieve academic success.
