Innovative & Creative SEN School  located in the London Borough of Greenwich is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Primary SEMH Teacher / SEN Teacher or  Primary Teacher to join on a temp to perm basis. This exciting Monday to Friday position is to start in April 2024!

The ideal Primary SEMH Teacher / SEN Teacher or  Primary Teacher must be well qualified and have a UK recognised teaching qualification, ie PGCE/ Cert Ed/ Teach First / SCITT and /or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status. Additionally you have taught Primary aged children and open to the Key Stage, additionally you are skilled in working with children with SEMH and ASD, complex needs, challenging behaviour, and have a passion for teaching in a classroom setting.

Class sizes in this setting is small, typically between 5 – 8 pupils per class and you will be supported by at least 3 SEN TAs. Supportive SLT and Welcoming staff, this is a fantastic place to work for someone who is excellent at supporting and teaching children with behavioural SEN.

The successful Primary SEMH Teacher / SEN Teacher or  Primary Teacher:

  • You have a teaching Qualification; ie PGCE/ Cert Ed/ Teach First / SCITT Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with children with SEMH and ASD, complex needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of SEMH and ASD teaching strategies and techniques
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written)and interpersonal skills
  • Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of children with SEMH and ASD, complex needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Create a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages children's learning and development
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive attitudes towards learning
  • Work closely with other professionals, including teaching assistants, therapists, and parents, to support children's academic and social progress
  • Keep accurate records of children's progress and provide regular feedback to parents and carers
  • Attend regular training and development sessions to keep up-to-date with best practices in SEMH and ASD teaching
  • You have an in date Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one immediately
