About Us:
Teaching Personnel is thrilled to partner with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) dedicated to transforming the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This innovative school goes beyond traditional education, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can flourish both academically and emotionally. Our students, many of whom are working towards their SATS, are disconnected from mainstream education. Our mission is to reignite their passion for learning, providing the guidance and motivation they need to succeed.

We are on the lookout for a committed and dynamic SEMH Primary Teacher to join our partner school's team. In this role, you'll be more than just a teacher-you'll be a mentor, a role model, and a beacon of hope for students facing significant challenges. Your expertise in SEMH will be crucial in delivering a curriculum that not only addresses academic needs but also empowers students to develop resilience, emotional regulation, and a positive self-image.

  • Engage and Inspire: Design and deliver creative lessons that not only prepare students for their GCSEs but also address their unique social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Therapeutic Approach: Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic strategies to help students develop coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with the school's multidisciplinary team-including therapists, support staff, and other educators-to craft Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) that offer comprehensive support tailored to each student's needs.
  • Adapt and Differentiate: Tailor your teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning abilities and needs of students with SEMH difficulties, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Nurture and Support: Create a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and understood.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and carers to keep everyone aligned on each child's journey.
  • Professional Development: Stay at the forefront of SEMH education by participating in ongoing training and CPD opportunities.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Proven experience as a teacher, ideally within a SEMH setting.
  • SEMH Expertise: Deep understanding of SEMH difficulties and a strong foundation in evidence-based strategies for supporting students with these challenges.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive, supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Resilient and Compassionate: Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their potential.
  • Competitive Pay: Enjoy attractive rates of pay, with opportunities for long-term placements and career advancement.
  • Supportive Network: Benefit from the dedicated support of a consultant from Teaching Personnel throughout your placement.
  • Meaningful Impact: Experience the profound satisfaction of making a real difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs, contributing to their academic success and emotional well-being.

Ready to make a difference? If you're a compassionate, skilled SEMH teacher ready to take on a rewarding challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Submit your application today and take the first step toward transforming the lives of students who need it most.
