A prestigious and highly reputable independent SEN school in Windsor is seeking a fully qualified Key Stage 1 or 2 teacher to join their dedicated and permanent staff list from September 2024.

Role Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (QTS) with a specialization in primary education, particularly Key Stage 1 or 2.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience working within an SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting, with a deep understanding of various learning disabilities and special needs.
  • Skills: Exceptional classroom management skills, a nurturing and patient approach, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the National Curriculum, with a specific focus on its application within an SEN context. Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to create and implement them effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for SEN education, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Professional Development: A willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in SEN education.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs and abilities of SEN students in Key Stage 1 or 2.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and contribute to the wider school community.
