Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Year 2 class

Location:  Cardiff

Hours: Full time 8:30-3:30

Job Start: September 2024

A lovely primary school in Cardiff are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated team in a year 2 class in September 2024. The successful candidate will be working closely with the class teacher to provide additional support to children who require extra help, as well as contributing to the smooth running of the nursery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to children who require additional 1:1 support, tailored to their individual needs and abilities
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of group activities, including circle time, phonics, and maths
  • Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, as well as marking and recording work
  • Assist with lunch duties, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for children
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development of children

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to work effectively with children who have special educational needs or disabilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • 24 months of references
