Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialised SEMH school in Bournemouth. This school caters for students who are primary aged, predominatly 7-11 year olds. 

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join us from September on a full time basis. This will start as a temporary role through our trusted recruitment partner and will become a permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively
  • Support our primary pupils to engage positively with education 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
  • You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
  • Strong understanding of SEMH or SEN and its impact on learning and behavior
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
