Key Responsibilities:

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and emotional well-being. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with lesson delivery in Psychology and other subjects, providing classroom support to teachers
  • Working one-on-one or in small groups with students who require extra help, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Supporting the school's SENCO in identifying and addressing students' individual learning needs
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensuring a focused, supportive atmosphere for all students
  • Offering pastoral support to students, promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being
  • Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and resources under the guidance of teachers
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on students' progress and engagement in class
  • Supporting extra-curricular activities or intervention sessions aimed at improving students' academic or emotional outcomes

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related field
  • A genuine interest in education, mental health, and child development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide support to students with diverse learning needs
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to helping students achieve their best academically and emotionally
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
