Key Responsibilities:

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' learning and well-being, working closely with teaching staff to help students overcome academic and personal challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing classroom support across various subjects, focusing on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Working one-on-one or in small groups with students, helping to build their confidence and improve their engagement with learning
  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by adapting resources and learning strategies to suit their individual needs
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment
  • Helping to implement personalised learning plans for students, tracking progress and providing regular feedback
  • Offering pastoral support to students, contributing to a positive school environment that fosters mental and emotional well-being
  • Participating in extra-curricular activities that promote student development, such as workshops or mentoring programs

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related field
  • A passion for education, child development, and mental health
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with students who may face barriers to learning
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different learning needs
  • Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
