Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Old Trafford. The school mission is to provide an exceptional educational experience that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our client school in November. This role is ideal for recent psychology graduates who are eager to gain practical experience in an educational setting while contributing positively to the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Classroom Learning: Assist teachers in delivering engaging psychology lessons by providing one-on-one or small group support to students who may need additional help.
  • Prepare Learning Materials: Help prepare resources and materials for lessons, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and ready for use.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Observe student performance and behaviour during lessons, providing feedback to teachers about individual student needs and progress.
  • Facilitate Group Activities: Lead small group discussions or activities related to psychological concepts, encouraging participation and critical thinking among students.
  • Provide Pastoral Support: Be a point of contact for students needing emotional or academic support, fostering a safe and supportive environment within the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related field (2:1 or above preferred).
  • Strong understanding of psychological theories and concepts relevant to secondary education.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults is desirable but not essential.
