Are you a recent Psychology graduate eager to gain hands-on experience within an educational setting? Join our team at Teaching Personnel as a Trainee Special Needs Teaching Assistant and embark on a rewarding journey in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a specialist secondary school environment.

The setting is a leading SEN secondary school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for students with diverse learning needs such as Autism, complex learning difficulties and special educational needs. This role offers invaluable hands-on experience in implementing strategies to enhance learning, communication, and social skills in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist SEN students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted support and interventions tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Psychology or related field is desirable.
  • Passion for supporting individuals with special educational needs and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Adaptability, patience, and resilience in responding to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn and grow in the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
