Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for Psychology Graduates to join one of our client schools in Wandsworth as SEN support Teaching Assistants. This position will be full-time and will start in September at the beginning of the academic year.

The salary for this position will be between £425 and £475 per week.

For this position, it is essential that you are a recent psychology graduate, looking to start a career in education, for the right candidate there will be opportunities for further training and permanent teaching positions when you become fully qualified. 

It is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, and that you can provide at least two employment-based references. You must also be aware of safeguarding procedures.

The key responsibilities of this position:

  • You will be predominantly working alongside pupils who have additional SEN and SEMH support. The students that you will be working with will have special needs such as autism or ADHD.
  • You will work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to target their additional learning requirements.
  • You will be assisting the pupils with their Educational Healthcare Plans (ECHPs).
  • You will be monitoring the progress of these pupils, being able to give feedback to teachers, parents, and the pupils themselves.
  • You should be able to manage the behaviour of the pupils and build relationships to effectively help them in their development.
  • You should ensure that all safeguarding procedures are being followed correctly, and that all situations are dealt with as well as possible.
