Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Teacher

Are you a fully qualified UK teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a dynamic opportunity to inspire and support students with diverse backgrounds? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated educator to join our team at our PRU located in Wigan.

As a PRU Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for our students. With a focus on fostering positive relationships and tailored teaching approaches, you will empower students to overcome barriers to learning, develop essential skills, and achieve academic success.

Requirements:

  • Qualified UK teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Challenging behaviour experience
  • Experience in working with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges is advantageous
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and restorative practices is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable young people

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects to meet the needs of individual students
  • Establish positive relationships with students, providing pastoral support and guidance as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to develop and implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) for students
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic growth and personal development
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution strategies

Pay to scale

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

(Subject to an Enhanced DBS check)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
