A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Portsmouth. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the team, bringing a strong commitment to education and the ability to engage students in KS3 and KS4 Science.

  • Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess work, ensuring students meet their individual targets.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic excellence.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Prepare students for GCSEs, ensuring all are confident and well-prepared for examinations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, ensuring continuity and progression in Science learning.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole-school activities.
  • Manage behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe, respectful learning space.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • A relevant degree in Science or a related field.
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science in a UK secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one branch of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • A passion for education and a student-centred approach to teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to use assessment data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
  • A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
