Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Early Years Teacher for a reception class based in the heart of Newport. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who can bring their enthusiasm and passion into the classroom on a daily basis and provide the fundamental education during the crucial years of the pupil’s lives. As a teacher you will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering high quality and engaging lessons to pupils of all abilities, in line with the Welsh Curriculum.

Reception Teacher responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that are detailed and engaging for all pupils.
  • Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Meet and promote the school’s vision and ethos, helping to drive the school forward.
  • Be committed to providing a rich and imaginative curriculum that meets the learning needs of your pupils.
  • Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.

A Successful candidate, must have:

  • Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.
  • Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards it)
  • 2 Professional Teaching References

Job Title: Early Years Teacher

Location: Newport, NP19

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30, +2 additional hours per week for school meetings

Pay: Minimum £157.66 Daily

Start: MAT Cover, starting November 2024
