A well-established primary school in Ipswich, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to join their staff from December 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive school community, where every member of staff is valued for their contribution to the smooth running of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, managing phone calls, emails, and face-to-face inquiries.
  • Maintain an organised and welcoming front office environment.
  • Assist with student registration, attendance, and general administrative tasks.
  • Manage school communications and update records using the Arbor system.
  • Provide support with pupil admissions, handling sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate appointments, meetings, and school events as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting or similar busy environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in using IT systems, with experience in Arbor or similar school management software preferred.
  • A friendly, professional, and approachable manner, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in an educational environment (training will be provided if necessary).
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working as a receptionist or in an administrative role, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using Arbor or a similar school management information system is highly desirable.
