About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Religious Studies Teacher to join our secondary school in Waterlooville. This is a full-time, temporary position starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking religious studies lessons, encouraging students to explore and understand various religious beliefs and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality religious studies lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and values, promoting a culture of respect and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching religious studies at the secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching religious studies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
