  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
  • Degree in Religious Studies or similar field
  • Previous experience teaching Religious Studies within a secondary school
  • Strong knowledge of Religious Studies secondary curriculum
  • Plan and deliver excellent Religious Studies lessons to a range of ages
  • Adapt lessons to suit a diverse range of abilities and individual needs
  • Strong classroom presence with confidence in behaviour management
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive

The Religious Studies Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in Religious Studies to secondary school students
  • Adapting teaching methods to cater to the individual learning needs and abilities of students
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the Religious Studies curriculum

Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education (PGCE)
  • Specialist training in teaching Religious Studies
