Religious Studies Teacher New

An esteemed mainstream secondary school in Holland Park is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Religious Studies Teacher to join their team starting September 2024. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to engage students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels in exploring diverse religious perspectives and fostering critical thinking skills.

This school is an all boys 11-18 comprehensive high school maintained by the local borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Religious Studies lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
• Explore a range of religious traditions, beliefs, and practices, fostering understanding and respect for diversity.
• Encourage students to critically analyze religious texts, teachings, and ethical dilemmas.
• Facilitate meaningful discussions and reflective activities that promote spiritual and moral development.
• Support students in developing their own perspectives on ethical and philosophical issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Religious Studies curriculum and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Relevant degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
• Experience teaching Religious Studies or a related subject at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4 level.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of different religious traditions and ethical frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to promoting tolerance, empathy, and social justice through education.
