Position: Residential Teaching Assistant.

Location: Chorley.

Start date: May 2024.

Contract type: Full time (Mon-Fri, 7:30-4:30) (perm).

Pay rate: £12.82 - £13.50.

An excellent SEN provision in the Chorley area is looking to recruit a Residential Teaching Assistant to join their team from April 2024! Your responsibilities as a Residential Teaching Assistant will be assisting the school’s children within the school’s residential home, getting them ready for school and assisting with general personal care needs. You will then transport the pupils to and from school each day, using the school’s vehicle. You will continue to support the pupils throughout the school day, ensuring all their additional needs are met through specific resources, tailored Education Healthcare Plans, and sensory interventions. You will then return the pupils to the residential home for the handover for the night staff.

Requirements:

  • Must have a full UK driving license.
  • Relevant experience supporting SEN or similar educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

This independent specialist school for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 supports pupils who have mild, moderate and severe autism and associated complex learning needs, behaviours that may challenge and associated anxiety. They provide a positive educational experience and develop strategies to aid pupils in managing everyday life, whilst developing independence, social and communication skills.
