From October 2024, we are seeking a highly qualified teacher of Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics for a Secondary school, based in NN4, with a sixth form. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified teacher or for someone looking to further their experience in an innovative and high-achieving school. Experience of teaching A level Religious Studies or Philosophy would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver dynamic PRE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, in line with the national curriculum
Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and ethical debate
Promote cultural awareness, empathy, and understanding of different religious traditions and philosophies
Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback and guidance for improvement
Collaborate with other teachers to enhance curriculum delivery and enrich student experiences
Support students’ personal development and prepare them for life beyond school

 

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Personal, Religious, and/or Ethics Education at the secondary level
Strong knowledge of religious studies, ethics, and personal development frameworks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage and inspire students in discussions on personal and societal values
