An exciting opportunity exists to work as a permanent member of staff with a small SEMH school located in Basingstoke. The position is for a Safeguarding Welfare and Attendance Manager with a primary responsibility to ensure early intervention in relation to pupil attendance, safeguarding and welfare concerns.

 

The school are seeking a member of staff to work alongside their Designated Safeguard Lead, in addition to working closely with pupil advocates, social workers and any other external agencies in relation to the pupils and their families. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate attendance records are kept
  • Interview and visit pupils in their homes or other venues
  • Follow procedure for issuing cautions and gathering evidence for fixed penalties
  • Present accessible data for shareholders
  • offer appropriate support for families to enable students to engage in education
  • Be aware and adhere to child protection policies
  • DSL lead for small campus
  • Advocate for safeguarding within the school
  • facilitate and deliver safeguarding training where required

 

The school are seeking an individual who has experience or training in one or more of the following areas:

  • DSL experience
  • Working with complex families/pupils
  • Good understanding of attendance protocols
  • Previous cohesion in working with police/social services

 

The position is to start as soon as possible. Salary is between  £33,945 - £37,336 and will be discussed upon interview with the school. Please apply asap by submitting your CV.
