Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a primary school in Liverpool (L22) to source an experienced and highly motivated School Business Manager to join our dynamic and friendly team, starting in January 2025. This is a key leadership role, and we are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and committed to making a positive impact on our school community.

As the School Business Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the school’s financial, administrative, and operational functions. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and Governors to ensure the efficient running of the school. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the school’s budget and finances, including payroll, procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the school office, including HR and administrative processes.
  • Managing site maintenance, health and safety, and contracts, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Leading on strategic planning related to financial sustainability, resource management, and school improvement.
  • Supporting the Headteacher with governance matters and providing key financial insights.
  • Have a proven track record in financial management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in School Business Management (e.g., CSBM, DSBM) or equivalent experience.
  • Be confident in managing budgets, financial systems, and resources.
  • Have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
