Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £30800 – 37000 (Approx £26800 - £33000 Pro-Rata 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year)

Innovative and creative SEND School located in the London borough of Lewisham seeking a dedicated and experienced School HR Officer who can start a permanent appointment in September 2024.

The successful School HR Officer will be responsible for managing all HR functions within the school, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and implementing effective HR strategies. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a wide range of HR-related tasks and contribute to a positive working environment.

  • You have experience working as either a HR Officer or HR Manager, preferably within a school.
  • You have an enhanced DBS
  • You reside in close proximity to the London borough of Lewisham.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school's objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR support and guidance to the school's leadership team.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR strategies and adjust as necessary.
  • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practices.
  • Communicate HR policies to staff and provide training where necessary.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the school.
  • Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new staff members, ensuring a smooth transition into the school environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities.
  • Provide support and guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to improve retention strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular HR reports to the school's leadership team.
  • Analyse HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HR data.
  • Oversee the performance management process, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and providing feedback.
  • Support staff development through training and professional development opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee performance and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
