State-of-the-Art SEND School located in Orpington is recruiting a dedicated and skilled School Pool Cleaner to work Monday to Friday between 4pm – 6pm and who can commit to an ongoing long term role to start straight away!

The successful School Pool Cleaner / School Cleaner will need to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of their hydrotherapy pool. The ideal School Cleaner will have experience in pool cleaning, sanitary practices, vacuuming, and maintenance of pool pumps and related equipment. This role is critical in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for the SEND Schools students and staff.

Due to being a hydrotherapy pool, it will get very hot with highs of up to 38 degrees, so important you can work in these temperatures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of the hydrotherapy pool, including walls, floors, and waterline tiles.
  • Operate and maintain pool vacuuming equipment to ensure debris-free water.
  • Monitor and adjust pool water chemistry to maintain balanced pH and chlorine levels.
  • Inspect and maintain pool pumps, filters, and other mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance on all pool systems and equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of pool maintenance activities, including water quality tests and equipment inspections.
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols and guidelines related to pool use and maintenance.
  • Report any issues or malfunctions to the school administration promptly.
  • Collaborate with school staff to schedule pool cleaning and maintenance activities around school hours and events.
  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience in pool cleaning and maintenance, preferably in a school or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of hydrotherapy pools and their specific cleaning and maintenance requirements.
  • Familiarity with pool vacuuming equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on pool pumps, filters, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of water chemistry and experience in monitoring and adjusting pool water quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe pool environment.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one immediately.
  • You live in easy commutable distance to Orpington
